Growth Rebates

Growth Program Contract Configuration and Management

Growth program contracts provide tiered incentive structures designed to encourage increased purchase volumes through progressive rebate levels. These contracts establish performance-based reward systems where contractees achieve enhanced rebate rates by meeting specified volume thresholds across designated product portfolios.

Technical Configuration Requirements

Template Prerequisites

  • Contract Type: Must be configured as “Growth” classification
  • Rebate Method: Must be designated as “Growth” methodology
  • Purpose: Ensures proper system functionality and calculation protocols for tiered incentive structures

Contract Setup Parameters

Contract Type Selection:

  • Growth Autopay: Automated processing utilizing sales data analytics
  • Growth Standard: Manual processing based on existing claim documentation
  • Availability: Selection options are determined by template configuration parameters

Payment Calendar Integration:

  • Function: Establishes claim generation timing protocols
  • Application: Claims are automatically created post-contract expiration based on selected payment calendar schedule
  • Automation: Ensures systematic processing of growth-based incentive payments

Processing Methodologies

Growth Autopay Configuration

  • Data Source: Utilizes comprehensive sales data analytics
  • Growth Assessment: Automated volume analysis and tier qualification determination
  • Claim Generation: System-automated claim creation based on performance metrics
  • Efficiency: Streamlined processing with minimal manual intervention

Growth Standard Configuration

  • Data Source: Leverages existing claim transaction history
  • Growth Assessment: Manual evaluation of volume performance against tier thresholds
  • Claim Processing: Manual claim entry and validation procedures
  • Control: Enhanced oversight and customization capabilities

Enter in the Contract Header information.

IMPORTANT: Prior to entering any Product information, enter the data on the GROWTH tab.

The following configuration parameters are mandatory for growth contract establishment and collectively determine growth threshold calculations and eligibility criteria. These interdependent settings establish the framework for performance measurement and incentive qualification.

Company Aggregation Settings

Growth Company Aggregation Defines the organizational scope for growth performance evaluation.

Company-Level Assessment:

  • Methodology: Individual evaluation of each contractee entity against growth criteria
  • Application: Each company within a contractee group is independently assessed for threshold compliance
  • Outcome: Individual companies may qualify independently, creating variable eligibility within contractee groups
  • Use Case: Optimal for performance-based incentives targeting specific organizational units

Contract-Level Assessment:

  • Methodology: Consolidated evaluation of all eligible contractee companies as a unified entity
  • Application: Aggregate data from all contractee companies is collectively compared against growth thresholds
  • Outcome: Universal qualification or disqualification across all contractee entities
  • Use Case: Appropriate for enterprise-wide performance incentives and group-based rewards

Product Aggregation Framework

Growth Product Aggregation Determines the product scope and granularity for growth measurement.

Product-Level Analysis:

  • Scope: Individual product performance evaluation
  • Application: Each product is independently assessed against growth criteria

Line-Level Analysis:

  • Product Groupings: Aggregate performance across all products within designated groupings
  • Individual Products: Single product assessment when line represents individual SKU
  • Flexibility: Accommodates both grouped and individual product strategies

Contract-Level Analysis:

  • Scope: Comprehensive aggregation across entire product portfolio
  • Application: Total contract performance determines universal growth eligibility
  • Strategic Value: Supports holistic business relationship growth objectives

Measurement Parameters

Growth Unit Specification Defines the quantitative basis for growth assessment.

Dollar-Based Measurement:

  • Sales Data: Extended price calculations
  • Claims Data: Requested payment totals
  • Application: Revenue-focused growth strategies

Volume-Based Measurement:

  • Sales Data: Sales quantity metrics
  • Claims Data: Requested quantity totals
  • Application: Market share and penetration strategies

Growth Type Methodology Establishes the comparative framework for growth evaluation.

Amount-Based Comparison:

  • Function: Direct numerical comparison between current and baseline periods
  • Application: Absolute growth measurement in dollars or volume units

Percentage-Based Comparison:

  • Function: Proportional growth calculation relative to baseline period performance
  • Application: Scalable growth assessment accommodating varying business sizes

Payment and Comparison Framework

Pay Only Growth Configuration Determines payment calculation methodology for qualified growth performance.

Enabled (True):

  • Calculation: Allowed quantities based on incremental growth differential
  • Ratio Application: Proportional to configured growth calculation methodology
  • Purpose: Rewards only incremental performance above baseline

Disabled (False):

  • Calculation: Allowed quantities equal to current period totals
  • Application: Full current period qualification for meeting growth thresholds

Comparison Date Range

  • Function: Establishes baseline period for growth performance evaluation
  • Constraint: Date ranges must not overlap with current contract timeframe
  • Purpose: Ensures accurate historical comparison and prevents data contamination

Following completion of growth parameter establishment on the Growth tab, proceed to the Products tab to configure growth-based pricing structures and payment methodologies.

Product Portfolio Setup

Step 1: Product Selection and Integration

  • Action: Add designated products and/or product groupings to the configuration grid
  • Scope: Select products that will participate in the growth incentive program
  • Strategic Consideration: Product selection should align with growth objectives and market expansion goals

Step 2: Growth Value Type Definition

  • Function: Establish the measurement criteria for growth qualification
  • Application: Define how growth performance will be quantified and evaluated
  • Integration: Must align with Growth tab configuration parameters for system consistency

Step 3: Growth Type Specification

  • Purpose: Determine the comparative methodology for growth assessment
  • Coordination: Selections must correspond with Growth tab settings to ensure accurate calculation protocols
  • Impact: Directly influences payment calculation algorithms and threshold determination

Payment Structure Configuration

Grid Configuration Impact

  • Function: Product grid selections establish the payment calculation framework
  • Methodology: Configured parameters determine how growth-based incentives are calculated and distributed
  • Business Logic: System utilizes these settings to automatically process qualified growth payments
  • Validation: Ensures payment accuracy and compliance with established growth criteria

The product-level configurations work in conjunction with Growth tab parameters to create a comprehensive growth incentive system that automatically calculates and processes performance-based payments according to established business rules and growth thresholds.

Numeric: This will pay a dollar amount based on the rebate growth type.

Percent: A percentage will be paid based on the growth. The options that display here are determined by what is defined on the contract.

Click the Growth button and the Growth popup will display.

Click Add to add a growth tier - one to many growth tiers can be added. The first column is labeled “Starting __” and the text and type of value entered are determined by the growth unit and growth type as defined on the Growth tab.

In this example, the growth tab was defined with growth unit of volume and growth type of percent. In the above example, if the volume increases by 2.0000% compared to the growth comparison timeframe, based on the other settings on the growth tab, then this will pay $1.25. If it increases by 4.0000% then this will pay $1.75.

NOTE: To pay any Growth related to the comparison timeframe, enter in a value of 0.01. Example, in the below example, if the comparison period had 1000 cases and greater than 1000.01 cases were sold/claimed, then the growth amount of $2.00 would be paid.

In the below example, the sale/claim data would need to grow greater than 1000 cases compared to the comparison timeframe defined on the growth tab and then the growth amount of $1.50 will be paid. If the prior period volume was 10,000, then in order to pay growth a the sale/claim volume needs to be greater than 11,000.

Once growth is defined, the growth button displays as green. Growth pricing is required on all contract product lines in order to save the contract.

Growth can also be entered by using the Mass Update feature. Select the rows and click the Mass Update button. The selections made here will be applied to all selected lines.

Enter the data then click Apply.

After all data is entered, click Save and Submit the contract for Approval.
