+The Company Grouping section is broken out by Company Grouping Type:
+**Parent Groups**
+**Buying Groups**
+**Custom Groups**
+And each Company Grouping Type is also broken out into two sections:
+**The Company Grouping Definition Admin is where the Groupings are defined and organized into a company grouping hierarchy.**
+**The Company Grouping Association Admin is where the Companies will be added to the previously defined Groupings.**
+First define the groupings on the definition section and then add companies using the association section.

+__Definitions of Groupings__
+**Parent Groups: **  This is used to define a Parent and all the related Children. Listing a Parent as the Contractee or Eligible Distributor would allow all the defined children and parent to be able to claim against that contract without having to create a contract for each individual location.
+Example: Sysco Corp is the Parent to children Sysco Atlanta, Sysco Chicago, Sysco Eastern PA, etc. If a contract is created for Sysco Corp then Sysco Corporate, Sysco Atlanta, Sysco Chicago and Sysco Eastern PA can claim against that contract, eliminating the need to create a contract for each individual location.
+**Buying Groups:**  This is used to define a Buying Group and all the related members of that buying group.  Create the Buying Group and associated all members to that group.
+Examples of Buying Groups are Frosty Acres and Unipro.
+**Custom Groups:** This is used to create Custom company groupings.  The Custom Group name can be anything - it does not have to be an existing company.
+Example: There are promotions for SE Sysco houses.  Create a custom group called Sysco SE and link all the Sysco SE locations to the custom group.  When creating contracts, this custom group Sysco SE can be added to the contract instead of having to add each sysco location.
+Creating company groups makes creating contracts easier.  By adding a company grouping to a contract at either the contractee or eligible distributor level, multiple companies can be added by one action.

+__Finding Records with the Hierarchy__
+To find where a Company is within the hierachy, select (highlight) the row within the grid.  Then click the Cycle through item in Hierarchy button.  Each time the button is clicked, it will move through all locations in the hierarchy where the selected row is a member.

+There is also an option to Expand All and Collapse All of the hierarchy.

+__Company Group Types__
+The Company Group Type is set based on the Company Type of its members.  All companies within a group must have the same Internal Company Type defined so an operator company can't exist in a company group where the company group type is distributor.  If a company exists within a grouping and that individual company group type is changed, that company will automatically be removed from that grouping.

+__**Company Grouping Definition Admin**__
+This is where you build out the groupings in your Company Grouping Tree.  Click the Add button on the bottom right.  This will open the editor on the right side of the screen.  Enter in the Grouping Description, Grouping CD, set it as Active/Inactive and Save.  To edit a company group, just click on the company group row and the editor will open.  To close the editor, click the X on the top right.

+To view the hierarchy, click the arrows to expand or collapse the rows.

 This is the place where you can group together other locations. This helps build out your Buying Groups, Corporate Headquarters, GPO's, Management Companies, etc. Here are a few examples:
-Example 1: You just finished setting up 70+ Sysco Opco's and now want to group them all together under a parent called Sysco Corporation.  Now you can set up a deal with Sysco Corporate or any one of the local locations.

+Buying Group Example:  UniPro is a Distributor Buying Group that is represented by many small independent or regional chain distributors.  You want to set up deals with UniPro but also need to set up deals with the independents and regional chains.  Let's go with Ben E Keith first.  Here you can set up the 10ish Ben E Keiths, then a BEK Corporate entity.  Link the 10 locations to BEK Corp.  Then link BEK Corp to UniPro.  Now you can set up a deal with any of the 10 local Ben E Keiths, or with BEK Corp. or with UniPro.

+To build out the Company Grouping Hierarchy, click and drag the grouping into any other grouping to build the actual hierarchy.  The data is automatically saved when moving records within the hierarchy.

+__**Company Grouping Association Admin**__
+To add Companies to the Company Groupings previously defined, navigate to the Company Grouping Association Admin screen.  The grid will display all Companies.  The first column indicates if a company is a member of a grouping.  If false, the company is not yet assigned to a group.  If true, the company is assigned to a group - select a company row and click on the Cycle through item in Hierarchy button and the company grouping hierarchy on the right will display where that company is in the hierarchy.
